B. Number of Full and Part-time EmployeesLarge Employer Surveys The Large Employer Survey included two questions that were to provide information as to the number of employees based upon Full-time and Part-time status, those receiving benefits, those ineligible for benefits, and those employees who are eligible but do not receive benefits. Unfortunately, due to reporting error, the data received does not provide the complete information that was expected. It is unclear as to those employees eligible for coverage that are accepting or not accepting employer health benefits. The same reporting error occurred for part-time employees eligible to receive health benefits and those that do not qualify for health benefits. From the survey responses, there were 2,822 employees eligible to receive health benefits. Of these employees, 2,374 were full-time employees and 435 were part-time employees, as illustrated in Table 8.2. What is not known is information regarding those employees who are eligible to receive health benefits but choose not to accept health benefits from their employer.
Small Employer Surveys Table 8.3 illustrates the number of full-time and part-time employees of small businesses. There are 44 companies representing 214 full-time and 108 part-time employees. What is not known is the number of employees who are eligible to receive health benefits but choose not to accept health benefits from their employer.
