B. Immunization Status
The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children should receive vaccinations
to protect against childhood diseases by age 2. The recommended immunizations include 3
doses of Oral Polio vaccine, 4 doses of Diphtheria and 1 dose of Measles, Mumps and
Rubella. The rates of immunization for Lompoc are exceptional at 97.6% in 1993, 98% in
1994 and 97.5% in 1995. The Lompoc immunization rates depicted in Table 4.10 run
approximately 4 to 5% higher than the State of California.
