Imperial Valley Community Health Organization

History

Mission

Maximize healthcare opportunities for the community by providing a locally owned administrative services organization which is a collaborative of healthcare providers, employers and the public. The collaborative is dedicated to improving access to the existing healthcare services through Valley wide health administrative coordination and to improving the health status of the community.

  • Expanding on the IVHRA & IVHAC successes.
  • Independent collaborative planning process maximizes grant opportunities for the Valley.

Imperial Valley Blood Services

Imperial Valley Blood Services provides donor recruitment services uniquely tailored to the Imperial Valley in coordination with the sponsoring organization, San Diego Blood Bank.

Administrative Services

Centralized administrative services specializing in the support of health care agencies and providers by coordinating meetings, functions and ongoing communication.

Ability to "get the word out" to a variety of organizations.

Mission

The mission of the Council is to develop a community consensus as to the healthcare status of the residents of the Imperial Valley.

Key Values

The pre-eminent value of the council will be the establishment of consensus. The founding principle here is that the Council be an educational entity whose purpose is to be inclusive and expansive in its participative understanding of things.

  • Stage II - Success depends on building an Information Electronic Service Center. As it grows, becoming more efficient and knowledgeable, it will attract clients.

JIF Data Report Showed:

  1. Large outmigration to San Diego, Riverside and Yuma.
  2. Preventable diseases.

Goals of IVCHO:

  1. Improve quality of health services through medical management.
  2. Improve health status of community by addressing preventable disease.
  3. Increase number of insured individuals.

Measurable Outcomes over Three Years:

  1. Reduce outmigration by 10%.
  2. Improve health status by increasing prevention and access programs.
  3. Increase number of insured by 10%.
  4. Eliminate need for outside Managed Care Administration vendors.
